Orion: Spirituality and Morality A channeled session --by Elisabeth Fitzhugh |

As always, we wish to remind you to take of the information that you are aligned to. You might find, though, that there may be, for each of you, an element that is very much in tune with thoughts and feelings and aspects that have been with you and we hope somehow that some aspect of which we speak will contribute to your information, to your awareness, today.
This evening we would like to speak on a topic that has been very much in the thoughts of people we have been with and is very much in the thoughts of many who are here tonight. That topic is how does honor, respect, and interact with a moral code as you begin to see the broad perspective; as you begin to see a validity in all things.
One thing we have noticed is when people begin what is called a spiritual quest, looking at all things in an expanded view, very often they explore a time where everything seems open-ended, where every possibility can somehow be viewed as appropriate and fitting. Indeed, if you take many spiritual precepts and philosophies to the greater degree, it can be that one can see aspects of value in what might be considered the most extreme positions.
We would like to remind you that being able to consider an aspect of value in the most extreme position does not directly lead to the conclusion that there should then be no discernment, or that you should participate in actions that are in an extreme position. It is simply a perspective.
When individuals become overwhelmed by the broadness of their philosophical perspective - such as when one tries to contemplate the universe, or the immensity of all time and other concepts such as that - it is very easy to then find one's self out of balance. A technique to bring balance, to regain a center that we suggest, is that when the broad perspective overwhelms you, bring your focus - the emotional, intellectual and knowledge-based focus - to the present, to the moment.
In the situation of the "moral code" we remind each of you that you are present in this time, in this society. However alienated, however separated you at times might feel, you are part and parcel of this greater whole. We remind you to touch into yourself, to the values you have experienced and hold true, those values you wish to participate with - and know that there is a correctness, that there can be an alignment - even in your ability to conceive of vast perspectives may show you that these values are not a totality. It is still a correct choice, an appropriate choice to interact with such values.
We remind you to honor your own wisdom. Keeping the broad perspective can balance your judgment. Your discernment does not move into a narrow vision, does not move into bigotry and prejudice. Do not use the broad perspective to give yourself no ability to root into or to comfortably participate with your own value system. It is important. You are doing things of balance and value when you discover, when you link with values you hold dear and you follow through.
To have a broad spiritual perspective, rather than taking away a value system, gives you more responsibility towards your accountability. It asks of you to finally be aware of the values you hold. It asks you to be willing to consider another's perspective. Not necessarily that you would interact with it, but that you are willing to consider that validity.
Having a broad spiritual perspective asks of you to have integrity within yourself about the energy you are aligned to. It asks, also, of a certain optimism; that you can hold a kind of balance knowing your personal actions may not, in and of themselves, change a complete whole, but may add an element, may add a note of change or sustenance.
So those of you who begin to feel overwhelmed, who begin to feel as if your actions and beliefs doesn't matter in the long run - we would like to bring out the idea that it does indeed matter in the long run. The idea that there is balance and harmony in all things does not mean that everything is okay, that everything is simply whatever. It means that as life evolves, different choices, different actions can be experienced, can come into different balances with different effects, and in the long run there can be a balancing.
Yet still on the personal, one-to-one, individual basis, it is essential for each individual to act with their own levels of integrity, with their own awareness, with their own accountability and responsibility.
