Ode to The Palm

--by Lilly Fluger

I once knew a tree that stood so tall
so graceful, so strong, a promise to all
The wind swayed its fronds like magic wands
the sun made it green, a joy to be seen
They came today to cut this tree down,
And all over town; the heart wears a frown
but they do not know, that the tree will still grow
to think it shall die is a camouflage lie--
The senses deceive us through blinding beliefs
Invisible ideas; a seeming cause of our griefs
But I know, as surly as day turns to night
That this tree still lives, and ALL is allright!
For nothing is ever truly destroyed
and tho all may seem unruly employed
and that what we have is a meaningless void
the truth is that All is to be enjoyed!

For learnings sake; realities we make
To grow and evolve; these riddles we solve
Create and express; these selves we shall dress
In clothes of thought; ideas are sought
To learn and to know; a discovery show
of How to Create; for Beings sake
A reality of Now; a forever of Wow!
