Civics
- We The People, Robert A. Carter and John
M. Richards, Coronado Publishers, 1983. A somewhat dated
text that does a nice job covering the concepts. Cartoons
and illustrations help keep the text lively although it
is probably not illustrated to the level of modern texts.

Social Studies
We used this series with our son and
will be using it with our daughter. They are decent
all-around standard social-studies texts that cover
the bases. They have lots of colorful illustrations and
teach a variety of skills related to social studies. I
wouldn't consider them rigorous or difficult though.
