I read one of your guest comment on Filipino's who changed a lot when she went to US who become slang and try to degrade her fellow Filipino's. I believe there are lot's of them but not all. People who does that are just trying to forget where she comes from and who she really was. And that's the sad part, and she's trying to be Americanized in a wrong way - The word "IRKING" is not too bad to start with eventhough it's commonly used slang wo d here. So Lady be true to yourself and don't be too overwhelmed on what you got, okey? Me, I still missed everybody 'coz there's no place like home and it's the truth. So people who got some heartaches to Balikbayans don't be carried away with your anger because whatever they say or they can say, they still got that dark hair to remember who they are, okey? Year 2000, we have arrived! Being physically present at the exact time of the roll-over is a triumph. No one of us will experience the same event again. There are people who are lucky enough to have seen the fullest of the previous millennium and the first sunrise of the year 2000, may I therefore congratulate the matriarch of the Mampaalong clan of Bukidnon - Mrs. Isabel Melendez Barroso, she's 90 years old and she triumphantly saw the last sunset of the year 1999 and the first sunrise of the year 2000. We are proud of her. The roll-over illuminated the fact that, the human race is just but one whole big family with the same fate. People of the world were united in their jubilations and prayers on one and the same event. Every race has its own story to tell ranging from the scourge of fortuitous events, or the vile of colonization, or the agony of civil war and or the sporadic human triumphs against various odds. Indeed, it was the real landscape of human life that not even a hundred Spellberg minds could have simulated. The picture was a total replica of human struggle for survival. You therefore have reasons to be proud of and to rejoice for you have arrived together with the rest of the survivors.
