Slave
The Slave language is the tongue of the people of
Mackenzie river, which they call Deh Cho, great river.
Several groups known as Slavey, Hare, Sahtu spoke this
language (which they call Dene) and live in the NW
Territories and in northern Alberta, in Canada. In 1982
there were 4,000 speakers out of 5,000 population.

Slave hizkuntza Kanadako Mackenzie ibaiko jatorrizko
biztanleena da. Zenbait taldetan daude banatuta: Slavey,
Sahtu, Hare (erbiak...), baina denek Dene esaten diote beren
hizkuntzari. 1982an 4.000 hiztun inguru ziren 5.000 laguneko
