Walser

            - The Walser German are a tiny minority living in Italy
mainly in the Valle d'Aosta and Piemonte regions speaking
a high German dialect related with the one spoken in the
Swiss canton of Valais (and hence absolutely not the same
as South Tyrolean!). In Aosta there are two dialects,
that of Gressonei, called Tits, with 578 speakers
(66% of population of the town), and the
Töitsu dialect of Eisseme, with 292 speakers
(80% of the population of the town). In all, with the
speakers of Piemonte's Val Sesia and Val Formazza, and
Aosta's Vallée de Lys, there are 1.000 speakers.
            Check also the Aosta page.

         Walser

            - Walserreko Alemanak gutxiengo oso urritua dira
Italian. Aosta eta Piemonte eskualdeetan bizi dira, eta
beren dialektoa aleman garaia oso desberdina da Hego
Tirolgotik. Beren komunitateak ere Italiako beste
eskualde aleman horretatik urruti daude, isolatuta.
Aostan, 2 dialekto Walser daude Gressoneikoa
(Tits) 578 hiztunekin, herriko %66, eta Eissemekoa
(Töitsu), 292 hiztun, herriko %80. Guztira
1000 hiztun edo, Val Formazza, Val Sesia (Piemonten) eta
Vallée de Lys-en (Aosta). Ikus, halaber,
            Aostako orria.
