Unpack Your Adjectives

Synopsis, Trivia & Facts

Synopsis:

A girl and her pet turtle
unpack adjectives from
an enormous backpack
to describe their
camping trip. As they
walk through the woods,
they label everything
with adjective signs.
And when they run into
the bear, he eats the
adjective signs they pull
out to describe him.

Watch when they
emerge from their tent
yawning, collapse the
tent, and after a few
pats it magically turns
back into the backpack.

Also features the
funny scene when, in
describing tall vs. small,
the tall girl stomps on
the small boy when he
won't stop giggling at
how big she is.

Trivia:

This was the first of several songs that George
Newall (a music major turned advertising
copywriter) contributed to the series.

The "demo" was originally sung
by Bob Dorough, but it was then
decided to record the final track
with Blossom Dearie ("Figure
Eight"). So the camper became a
little girl (Newall still marvels that Dearie
actually recorded something he wrote), and
Dorough was the voice of the turtle.
