his favorite superhero
movie, Verb. He's bold

of pirates and wild
animals. He imagines
himself climbing up
a snowy peak only
to be bumped off
by a mountain goat
and saved by Verb.
Features superhero
Verb being struck
by lightning turning
"to be" into
"not to be"; then
it rains and "I am"
becomes "I am wet."
When the movie
is over, the boy rushes
home to his mom,
and the final verb
is "to love."
Trivia:
Dave Frishberg ("I'm Just a Bill") originally wrote
a thought-provoking song for verbs called "A
World Without Verbs," based on the idea that
without verbs, nothing would happen. But the
idea wasn't a hit with anyone, so Bob Dorough
came up with a more action-oriented tune.
This was another Yohe/Peckmann collabora-
tion, with Yohe drawing the storyboard and
Peckmann providing the character designs and
doing the animation layouts.
The late Zachary Sanders sang two SR songs:
"Verb" and "Electricity."
