Old Vases & New Puppies

Today my most favorite old vase, treasured for 21 years, _somehow_
managed to crash to the floor. Interestingly enough, Banyan was happily
playing "see how high I can toss my rope toy up in the air" in that
same time period. He really does Innocence very well.
It was one of those slllllllooooowwwwww motion moments. I heard the
initial thud of the vase tipping over....I turned in time to see it spin
around and 'round......Banyan was also gazing intently at it as it
spun.....we both watched as it *!CRASHED!* to the floor. The tile floor.
No give to tile floor. Nope. It splintered into a gazillion pieces. Poor
old vase. It was out of reach of his tail too. I have the whole house
set up in consideration of his tail. Who knew he'd play toss the toy
sooooooo high with such precarious or precise aim?He was so puzzled as to how and what had happened. Even more so
when I aaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiied in loud disappointment. But he was ever
eager to "help" me clean up.I now have a lovely little wicker basket filled with Autumn leaves
gracing the coffee table. It's unbreakable. Not uneatable mind you.
He's already tested that idea and been gently persuaded to leave it alone.
