Grazing Serengeti Banyan Beastie

Dawn quietly slips into place
Softly shining across the open expanse of space
.....perfect for grazing
Black paws stealthily pad under hanging leaves
The beastie's huge black head lifts upward
Foraging is his only intent this early morning
A long pink tongue reaches to catch a leaf
Fierce white teeth grasp the green tendril
A brief tug and the beastie happily munches away

He freezes in place at the sound of approaching footsteps
The tender morsel hangs from his now motionless mouth
Muscles tensing for flight he awaits...

A dreaded sound trumpets across his feeding grounds
"Banyan, leave my hanging fern alone!
Get away from there right now, buster!"

The great black beastie gallops away
Knowing he can forage
