Get your own Free Home PageCHARLOTTE -- Smith junior Jorell Webb will run in the state 3-A cross country championships at McAlpine Greenway Park Saturday.
Webb ran an 18:54 at Rockingham County High School's difficult 3.1-mile course in the Mideast 3-A regionals last week in Wentworth. Webb's time was good for 13th place in the regionals and qualified him for the NCHSAA championships Saturday.
Teammate Andres Covarrubias finished 16th and is the first alternate for the 3-A finals.
Webb also qualified for next Saturday's Foot Locker Southeast Regionals, also at McAlpine.
Saturday's 3-A race will start at 10 a.m. (EST).
