Welcome friends -- old and new!

How art thou?!? Things in Athens, GA, are going well. After months of stressing and saving, and enough trips through Atlanta rush-hour traffic to make me homocidal, Set on Edge's 2nd c.d., recorded 2 years ago, is finally AT THE PRINTER! That's right, it's being duplicated right now! It's simple, short, raw, and real, and tells a story that some of us may have already forgotten, and it exist so we might REMEMBER. God is teaching me much about remembering; remember God (what He's done in your life, and the life of others), remembering those you are accountable to (friends, family, and even non-believer whom you are responsible for ministering to), and remembering the past (so that you don't repeat the same mistakes, and are given direction for the future). Have you ever sinned while remembering? In order to sin we must forget God, forget those who would be affected and to what extent, forget our past mistakes -- so I've been trying to remember....and Sod Pottage is a memory of mine, randy, steve, dave, and a lot of other folks, some who I've not seen in a LONG time, but it is our shared memory.

Anyway -- I'm just pleased to be able to tell you that I was able to keep my promise, albeit quite delayed. I'm just asking you to pray for two things:

1.) pray that an important check that I've been anticipating for a few weeks arrives soon(I was told it would be a here a while ago), lest I will not be able to make the final payment on the c.d.'s.

2.) pray that they are able, by some miracle of God and nothing short of it, to finish them by the Cornerstone festival (I'll be leaving June 30th) this year, so I can get copies of them to record label, influences, and radio station without having to spend outrageous amounts of money on shipping.

Another update, for those that haven't been keeping up -- me and "the trio" of the new Set on Edge will be cutting a 3 piece instrumental stereo live demo on real to real next week as pre-production to "earnestly I", the 3rd c.d. This is going to be a confusing record to make, since I'm using 2 different drummers, 2 different bassists, 4 guitarists (Steve Rieske, and myself included), and a slew of other guest musicians...it's going to be recorded in at least 4 different studio's in 3 states (texas, georgia, ohio)...so it looks to be quite a complex undertaking. So please pray for that as well... I hope that all is well with you. I'm just starting a great book..."The Crucified God" by Jorgen Multmann...and have just finished "Seeking the Kingdom" and "Classical Devotions" by Richard Foster. The later 2 I advise for ALL...the former to people interested in neo-orthodox German conservative existentialist theology. I'd love to hear back from you... so drop me a line.
