USS Rainier AE-5 at Mare Island, California- World War Two

These previously classified photos depict the Rainier at Mare Island and are captioned "Plan Photos". You'll notice little "o's" on the pictures, apparently related to changes or repairs made to the ship. These photos show what drastic changes were made to Rainier over the thirty years of its service. You might not recognize parts of the ship- like that 5" gun on the stern.
