The stereo blasts, and hums while I steer around,
The wind whips around my face in a fury or joy,
And I cruise down the streets....
Feeling the vibe, at occasions of assurity.
The scenery passes by,
Sometimes, I'll find something new or old
That I can cherish with my soul and mind,
Or lurk into the shadows as my eyes bulge out.
At times, I will press my face against the glass of the window,
Letting my thoughts and dreams meld into fantasies,
Absorbing into my head possible answers to my questions,
But never knowing in positivety.
At dusk, my heart beats in eerie syncopation,
As I try to stomp on the brakes and turn back,
So I can follow the route I had taken,
Even through the bumps and potholes.
But the vehicle only zooms faster,
And only slackens when I think to live in the present,
And stop missing the days before, accept change,
Even if I'll speed and crash beyond recognition.
