A Brief Romance
The first time he saw me was when I was at the edge of
an almost barren road,
Looking desperate and in the throes of despair.
Unbeknownst, he slipped behind me,
And I whirled around like a tornado,
My eyes fiery with anger,
but they softened once I looked into the compassionate, calm,
crystal dark blue eyes.
In those eyes, I saw ny soulmate,
I saw my other half.
He saved me, and as I watched him,
I imagined myself as Cinderella, and him, the prince.
Later that week, he embraced me with his arms,
And we slowly came together in a gentle kiss,
For I could not suppress my emotions as his sandy hair fell into
those eyes.
But he had to leave me,
Had to say goodbye,
Because he was a devoted man, and one thing was in our way.
I bade my sad farewell,
And the salty drops of water fell down my face,
Which he once had carressed.
He is gone now, but I know that we were meant to be,
But the works of destiny had been rewritten,
And I was erased from his world.
