I. 과목소개 Course Description:
미디아와 예술 등 현대문화에 반영되어있는 세계관에 대한 탐구. 후기근대주의의 필요에 효과적으로 대응할 수 있는 목회방법 연구에 중점을 둔다. An investigation into the worldview of contemporary culture as expressed in forms such as the media and the arts. The focus will be on how Christian ministry can provide an effective apologetic to address the needs of the postmodern era.

1. 비평 Observation (30%): The Universe Next Door(기독교 세계관과 현대사상)를 읽고 내용을 비평한다. 비평의 길이는 각 장 당 A4 용지 한 면으로 한다. 각 세계관이 문화에 어떤 영향을 끼쳤는지를 관찰하는 내용으로 결론을 짓는다.
Read The Universe Next Door and make observations. Each observation must be one page per chapter in length. Conclude each observation by describing what impact each worldview has on contemporary culture.
비평 제출일 Observations Due: 10월 October 25일
2. 기사 Articles (25%): 최근에 발간된 신문, 잡지, 학술지 등의 정기간행물에서 본 과목이 다루는 세계관들과 관련된 다섯 가지의 기사를 찾아 내용을 요약하고, 그 내용이 어떤 세계관과 어떻게 연관이 있는지를 설명한다. 설명의 길이는 매 기사 당 A4 용지 한 면으로 한다.
Find in current periodicals such as newspapers, magazines, journals, and so on, five articles that are related to one of the worldviews we deals with in this course, summarize the content of each article, and make a connection between each article and one of the worldviews. It may be done in a page per article.

3. 정리문제 Study Questions (Extra 10%): 안점식 저, 세계관을 분별하라의 각 장 마지막부분에 있는 토론 및 정리문제에 대한 답을 기록한다.
Write answers to the study questions at the end of each chapter in Discern Worldviews written by Jumsik Ahn.

4. 목회철학 Term Paper (45%): 기독교적 세계관에 걸맞은 목회철학을 글로 조리 있게 피력한다. 목회철학의 길이는 A4 용지 15 면으로 한다. 서론: 세계관 연구와 관련하여 목회의 목적과 기능을 설명한다. 본론: 기독교적 세계관의 기본적인 특성을 정리하고, 다른 세계관 하나를 선택하여 그 세계관을 가진 사람들에게 효과적으로 접근할 수 있는 방법을 모색한다. 결론: 세계관 연구와 관련하여 목회자의 과제를 살펴본다. 서적, 학술지 등 최소한 열 가지의 자료를 참고한다.
Express in a well-written essay one's philosophy of Christian ministry based on Christian worldview. The paper should be 15 pages in length. Introduction: Explain the purpose and functions of Christian Ministry in terms of the worldvew study. Body: Systematically organize the basic tenets of the Christian worldview, and after choosing one of the other worldviews examine how to approach effectively those who adhere to that particular view. Conclusion: Describe the Christian minister's responsibility in terms of the worldview study. Use a minimum of ten resources such as books, journals, and so on.

VI. 학점 Grading:
A: 90% 이상 and above, B: 80-89%, C: 70-79%, D: 60-69%, F: 59% 이하 and below
VII. 참고사항 Additional Information:
1. 모든 과제는 영문이나 한글로 제출하되, 타자기나 컴퓨터로 인쇄하여야 한다. 여러 장으로 구성된 과제물은 좌측상단을 철한다.
All assignments may be turned in either in English or in Korean but must be typed or word-processed. Multiple pages are to be stapled in the upper left hand corner.
2. 제출일을 초과한 모든 과제물들에 대한 점수는 하루에 1% 씩의 삭감된다. 주의: 1. 과제를 우편으로 보낼 경우 최소한 일주일 이전에 우송할 것; 2. 과제물의 사본을 반드시 만들어둘 것.
The grade received on any assignment turned in after the due date will be reduced by 1% per day. Caution: 1. Assignments should be mailed at least a week prior to the due date; 2. Make duplicates of assignments.

No late work will be accepted after December 3, 1999.
