GECKOS
The gecko has a short flat body covered with tiny scales.
Their feet are formed for holding to smooth surfaces. At the end
of each toe there is a claw hidden in the pads. They come in all
different sizes and colors. They usually are 12 to 14 inches in sizes and
usually come in regular colors such as brown, green, and white. Some
are extremely colorful but this feature would not aid in its defense.
They are able to release their tails to confuse their enemies.
The gecko lives in the understudy of the rainforest.
They are unlikely to live north of the Tropic of Cancer. Their biggest
predators are birds, bats, snakes, frogs, and larger lizards. A gecko
eats mainly insects and other geckos but a few species eat fruit and flower
nectar. They are also able to speak by clicking its tongue.
