Golden-Handed Tamarin 

     The golden-handed  tamarin has black fur, yellow hands and feet.  The golden-handed tamarin lives in the tropical rainforest of Brazil.  Golden-handed tamarin are omnivorous, feeding on fruits, insects and small vertebrates.  Any smaller animals are possible food.  Hawks and raptors, cats and large snakes are the main predators of golden-handed tamarins.  The tamarins give alarm calls when predators are near.
      Golden-handed tamarins live in-groups and they defend a territory against other tamarins.  Territories average 100 acres and tamarins defend their territory though voices and set markings.  Physical aggression dose not occurs.
     Usually one male in the group will mate with more than one female in the group.  Births are usually twins.  Both parents help with care of the infant.   Other members of the group will assist in the up bring of the baby.
