BIRD-EATING SPIDER
The Bird-Eating Spider primarily lives in
the Brazilian rainforest. The Brazilian rainforest is located in the northern
half of Brazil in South America. The Bird-Eating Spider lives on
the rainforest floor, which is where it hunts for most of its food. It
can also live in trees and hunt there. They do not hunt during the day
but at night because they are nocturnal.
What does it look like you ask. They
are nine inches long and can weigh three ounces. Being this
big, they can eat birds! The spider kills its victims by biting it
and injecting venom into the prey. Once the victim is dead, the spider
sucks the liquefied substance of the prey through its fangs.
