Friends who have not seen each other for years, refresh their memories at high school reunions. The summer of 1999 they met again.
In August, the classes of '79 and '89 gathered in Fort Lauderdale to catch up on old business and share their new-found successes and families.
"I had a great time," said Rena Combs Hafer, 1989. "I was pleasantly surprised to find that everyone was friendly. Since I was pregnant, I got a lot of valuable tips from friends that have had babies of their own already." She had Matthew Garet, Oct. 29, 1999.
Cindy De Panicis Renzo '79 planned three reuinons for the CLass of 1979: 10, 15 and 20 years. "Eerybody who goes loves them," she said. "it's fun because we think we've all grown up. It's good to see everybody even those who weren't your best friends. They all want another one for 25 years."
Dondi Hopkins Callanan '89, was active in TV Productions. "I had a blast at the reunion," she said, "and went out with the same high school crowd afterwards."
Versatile Adam Green '89 was busy with drama and journalism in high school. "I can't imagine not attending the reunion," he said. "The weekend allowed me to travel back in time and recall a period of my life that I'll never be able to relive again."
Valerie Vadnais Polcyn '78 attended her 20-year reunion. "I went to my reunion because I met some of my best friends during high school, and I was hoping I'd see those that I had lost tough with," she said. "that's exactly what happened, and now I am e-mailing friends I had not been in touch with for years."
Maurice Contrer '78 was at the same reunion. "I learned we are all getting older fast," he said. "I wish we could genuinely relive the old days the way it was for a few hours."
