Green is for the municipality's rich vegetation, as well as for being a colour traditionally identified as representative of Teroro by its inhabitants, who oftenn use it on sport, feasts and cultural activities. Yellow is one of the colours of the flags of Gran Canaria and the Canary Islands, and is also the colour of the stones used for buildings in the municipality.
