Annual 1st Year Student Climb of
Mt. Jii- 2690 meters
The weather was bad when we started, but by the time we reached the mountain hut we would spend the night at, it was clear and fine.  Everyone rose at 3:00am to start our climb to the summit.  We arrived in plenty of time for the sunrise, which was cold, but beautiful.  Our group this year comprised about 100 students, 7 teachers, 1 doctor, and one mountain guide, who could teach us about the interesting plants we came across.  This annual challenge is a great chance for first years to learn a lot about their surrounding natural environment, and themselves.
