Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome

has uttery devastated my life.

This is not an exageration.

BUT

It is not my master! Life goes on.

The photo on the left (above) is me, sitting before the Golden Bridge. I was on my way home from the 1988 Ratha Yatra festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. The picture on the right was taken one year later, almost to the day, as I was returning home from the 1989 Ratha Yatra festival. With the exception of the haircut, all of the bodily changes you see are the result of this illness. I went from 175 lbs of lean muscle to 290 lbs of flab in six months! During this period I ate much less than before (in part because I could not hold food down!), still my weight skyrocketed.

As a result of CFIDS my wife of 12 years divorced me (granted, its hard to live with a PWC) and I moved into my Nissan Sentra wagon. After a trip to India, I moved to Santa Cruz where, four years later, I fell in love.

Today I am maintaining an average of 220 lbs. In the summer, my hardest season, my weight climbs a bit and in the fall and winter it declines a bit.

This is me and my sweetie leaving our commitment ceremony.

For more information on this illness, please see my CFIDS Information site.

Thanks for Visiting!
