Greek Pantheon

The ancient Greeks based their worship of the dieties around the Twelve Olympians. These dieties are Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Athena, Demeter, Aphrodite, Artemis, Apollo, Ares, Hephaestus, Hermes and Hestia. It is believed that at a later date, due to Hestia choosing not to reside at Mt. Olympus, that She was displaced and Dionysus took Her place at Mt. Olympus. The ancient Greeks held each one of these dieties sacred for different reasons and worshipped each in different ways.
