A quitter never wins. A winner never quits. Be a winner! Practice. That advice from Chloe Ross, Monte Vista's own music teacher.
Mrs. Ross's favorite teacher was Mr. Murdock, her music teacher from whom she learned perfection. As a child in Idaho, Mrs. Ross's family encouraged anything that she was interested in. Her parents allowed her to plan and organize trips, and a love for travel developed from that experience. Vietnam and Indonesia Papua are her favorite places to visit because of the beauty of the country, and the kindness of the people. She dreams still of returning to Monet's garden because she could not get in during her visit to France. Her favorite place to vacation is Indonesia.
A love of children and music inspired Mrs. Ross to get her degree in Elementary Education from Pepperdine. The supportive parents, and wonderful children at Monte Vista is what she likes best here. Prior to joining the Monte Vista staff in 1979, Mrs. Ross taught first grade in Los Angeles for one year.
A letter published in the paper in support of Mrs. Ross from a parent as a result of a production at Glendale College is a special memory for Mrs. Ross. She likes to ski, travel, read, garden, and watch the lakers in her free time. Mrs. Ross's favorite movies are Mr. Holland's Opus, and Shine. Classical music - please no jazz is what Mrs. Ross enjoys listening to. Her favorite book is Independent Women Means.
Mrs. Ross would like to keep teaching as long as possible, and enjoy her grandchildren. The children of Monte Vista are lucky to have this dedicated teacher.
