More Mondegreens

Mondegreens are not limited to song lyrics. The practice today of including the lyrics with songs has made the more popular misheard song lyrics rather short lived. One can misshear them in commercials and in News and weather reports.

The pledge of allegiance is loaded with Mondegreens.

I pledge a lesion to the flag, of the United State of America, and to the republic for Richard Stans,  with liver tea and just this for all."

How about the "Meaty Urologist" report  about the "annual cursed media shower'' which was not a reference to whatever the media was sinking their fangs into at the time, but it was the annual Perseid meteor shower.

Or how about the California TV report that was heard as "There's bad news for peach-eating customers.'' some feared pesticide contamination, but instead it was "bad news for PG&E customers.''

Some were pleased to hear that Coke and Pepsi now came in "Cheerleader Size" - 2 liter size.

Unfortunately there will be more Mondegreens tomorrow.

WhoopsI Wish I hadn't said that!
A Quotation that the speaker probably wishes he could take back.

"I have made this letter longer than usual, because I lack the time to make it shorter."

- Blaise Pascal
