But my mouth would encourage you; comfort from my lips would bring you relief.

Find Out What
Pleases the Lord by Cathy Vinson |
What a beautiful walk God intends for us! Little glimpses we see only affirm God wants the joys of the closest possible relationship with us..pure and keen. "Ask anything according to His will..." (1 Jn 5:14) How are we to understand "will" here? Actually it is what God desires, delights in, wishes, what gives Him pleasure as opposed to the word that means we must unearth a predetermined course, a deliberate design or the asking is all in vain. No, it appears we cannot miss if we know what pleases the Lord. It is to our benefit to find out what pleases our God! What freedom a close walk with God offers, basking in His pleasures, and then reaching out with prayers for the things that we've learned will please Him. We are offered the assurance of prayers that will be heard AND requests granted (1 Jn 5:15). Let us be loosened. Practically speaking, we can be overwhelmed in prayers of kindliness for others, to see God's acts of pleasure to help our fellowman. Growing in this...what a joy to know the pleasure of kindliness will issue together with the pleasure of His very creative design!

Now this is the
confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears
us. 15And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions
that we have asked of Him. 1 John 5:14-15 (NKJ) |
