Letter from the Author:

Dear Readers,

I know many of you have been anxiously awaiting Austin's story, and at long last, TEXAS SPLENDOR is in the bookstores. It's ironic that Austin's story is last when his was the first one I envisioned. I saw a young man unjustly accused of murder, returning to his family and discovering that he'd not only become a stranger to them, but to himself as well. I wanted you to know him before he went to prison, so I decided to tell you his brothers' stories first—in TEXAS DESTINY and TEXAS GLORY—so you could watch Austin change from a young boy of 16, to a young man of 21, to a changed man of 26.

This was my first trilogy and I loved writing it. I enjoyed having the opportunity to visit with Houston's and Dallas's families and to watch them change with the years. Many of you have already asked if Rawley will have a story. At some point, I hope so; but right now I'm working on the second book of a new trilogy. The first book, A ROGUE IN TEXAS, will be released by Avon in April.

Excerpt from TEXAS SPLENDOR:

Austin's gaze drifted to her lips, the blue of his eyes darkening until Loree felt the warmth of a fire, burning hot and brightly, creating even as it consumed. He lowered his head slightly and her lips parted.
"So sweet," he whispered, and she wondered if within the words, she heard an apology.
Then his mouth was pressed against hers, warm, soft, moist, and she had her first taste of a man. Deep inside, she smiled. He tasted of strawberries.
He deepened the kiss, and when his tongue sought hers, she raised up onto the tips of her toes, wrapped her arms around his neck, and gave to him all that he asked.
He groaned deep within his throat and she felt the rumble of his chest against her breasts. His arm snaked around her, pressing her closer against his body.
She had never been wanton, but then the loneliness had never been this great, this consuming. Nor had the need to be held, to be loved been so strong. She did not delude herself. He did not love her. In his eyes, she had seen the stark loneliness that mirrored hers.
They were kindred hearts with a haunting past that had stolen dreams.

I hope you'll enjoy TEXAS SPLENDOR as much as I enjoyed sharing the story with you. May your destiny be filled with the glory of reading stories of splendor.
