Susan Andersen

Andersen, Susan - BABY, I'M YOURS  (Avon - 1998) (3+)
Fast-paced road romance, somewhat unoriginal as far as characters (twins—one staid, the other flamboyant; not to mention another bounty hunter), but pretty well written and funny. ~Elena P.

Andersen, Susan - BABY, I'M YOURS  (Avon - 1998) (4+)
This has not been Catherine MacPherson's day!  The tour company that was arranging her European vacation folds, taking her money. Then her twin sister, Kaylee, bursts through the front door. She is on the lam after being arrested for car theft in Miami, as well as jumping bail after overhearing a murder plot. Hot on Kaylee's heels is bounty hunter, Sam McKade, who needs the recovery money on her bail for a down-payment on a fishing lodge.

When Sam arrives at Catherine's home, Kaylee grabs her sister's purse and runs, leaving her personal belongings behind. Sam, not knowing Kaylee has a twin, assumes Catherine is the woman he's after. This is where the fun begins!  Trying to save money, he decides to take Catherine back to Florida on a Greyhound bus. Since Catherine can't convince him of her identity, she decides this trip is her vacation and she's going to make Sam "pay" for every single mile. Unfortunately, the conspirators in the murder plot also believe Catherine is her sister, and they are determined that she not make it back to Florida.

Susan Andersen has written a witty, sizzling romp. The hero is an honorable man who has given up his life ambition to provide for a disabled friend. He is also tenacious and stubborn—a perfect match for the heroine. Sam and Catherine will have the reader laughing out loud and panting. The secondary characters in this story are just as enjoyable, even the villains!  ~Sharon L. (JENW18B@prodigy.com)

Bookbug Review

Andersen, Susan - BE MY BABY  (Avon - 1999) (4+)
Straitlaced, wealthy socialite Juliet Astor Lowell arrives in New Orleans to preside over the opening of her daddy's new hotel. Hoping to escape the restraints that are part of being a member of New England's elite family, Juliet is disappointed when she discovers she will have a bodyguard—one of the New Orleans Police Department's finest, Beau Dupree.

Sexy Sergeant Dupree is in the midst of a hot investigation and has no time for baby-sitting an "uptight, prissy little Yank!" With the clock steadily ticking and the "Big Easy Panty Snatcher" poised to strike again, Beau sets out to get himself removed as Juliet's bodyguard by involving her in his investigation, thus subjecting her to the grittier side of New Orleans life.

Set against the hot, jazzy backdrop of the French Quarter, BE MY BABY is a romance reader's dream. Susan Andersen manages to compile humor, mystery, steamy sex, and an exciting secondary romance within the confines of this fast-paced hit. ~Olivia Holton for Bookbug on the Web
