Hendrix, Lisa - RAZZLE DAZZLE (Jove - 9/99) (4+) Tish and Miranda are appalled that their spell has gone awry. More importantly, the future of Alexander Industries is at stake. Caroline is to provide a much-needed influx of cash in exchange for entree to Seattle high-society. Mason decides to string his mother and sister along for two weeks as they seek to reverse the spell at the next appropriate opportunity, and he offers Raine five-thousand dollars to act as his besotted girlfriend. Meanwhile, Tish and Miranda plot to keep Mason and Raine from becoming too attached, and most of all, from becoming lovers. Things get complicated when Raine realizes Mason is the owner of MMT Enterprises, the corporation planning to put up a building that will disrupt the proper flow of ch'i, which will be unhealthy for the community. Raine's group, Fremonters United To Secure Energy (FUSE), had protested to MMT Enterprises in order to alert them of the dangers, but to no avail. Now that she knows Mason is the head of MMT, she hopes to be able to use their arrangement to educate him about feng shui. But when Mason and Raine are together, romance and desire work their own special magic and blot out everything else but their feelings for each other. The two fall in love, despite their best intentions and other conflicts: Tish and Miranda plot new tactics to keep them apart; Caroline returns to claim Mason as her own; and FUSE and MMT Enterprises collide head-on. RAZZLE DAZZLE is a fun, fascinating read with the perfect blend of romance, sensuality, and magic. I found myself totally caught up in Lisa Hendrix's well-crafted and beautifully written tale, caring very much for the Alexander family and not wanting the book to end. In addition, there are two delightful secondary romances that enhance rather than detract from the main love story.
