Tired contemporary tale of a poor, little rich girl falling in love with a wrong-side-of-the-tracks hellraiser. They are separated by tragedy and return to town years later with something to prove to the townspeople and each other. They're still in lust, of course, and when she's accused of murder and he's the sheriff, well, he's got to prove her innocence. Nothing Sawyer has written has impressed me as much as A KISS IN THE DARK, but I keep reading her books because I like her fast-paced writing style.
