Shannon, Colleen - HEAVEN'S ROGUE  (Love Spell - 9/99) (4)
Dr. Honoria Psyche Fitzhugh, an assistant museum curator, has found the perfect man: Dominico Castiglione. Unfortunately, he is only a statue, discovered in Italy with several other 15th-century artifacts. As Michelangelo's apprentice, Dom had modeled for the figure of David; but an angel turned him into a life-size statue after he cursed God and the angels for allowing all of his family and his fiancée to die of the plague. The angel informed Dom that only a virgin's tears around the time of the next millennium would awaken him from his 500-year sleep, at which time he must find and save his only surviving relative from self-destruction.

Honoria cannot believe she is going to lose her statue!  Proven to be a fraud, it is going to be shipped back to Italy with the other artifacts. But her tears of disappointment and desperation are the catalyst that frees Dom from his prison of stone. Falling in love right from the beginning, Dom tries to reform his old ways and keep Honoria chaste as they search for his only relative. However, their magical moment in time conflicts with the harsh reality of a desperate mission and their eventual separation—this domineering Renaissance man and thoroughly modern miss face many challenges.

Colleen Shannon has created a real page-turner, blending romantic suspense with fairy-tale magic and the fantasy of time-travel. HEAVEN'S ROGUE sparks your imagination and engages your mind, particularly if you appreciate the genius of Michelangelo and Leonardo da Vinci; as it speaks to your heart about close friendships, family ties, and a love that transcends time. Enjoy!  ~Vicki Patterson for Bookbug on the Web
