Born in Virginia and raised "on the road" as an Air Force brat, Ms. Eagle earned her BA in English literature from Mount Holyoke College, her MS from Northern State University, and taught at Standing Rock High School in North Dakota for 17 years. She served as president of the North Dakota Council of Teachers of English and secretary of the ND Department of Education Curriculum Council. Now a full-time fiction writer, she was elected to serve as an advisor to Romance Writers of America Board of Directors for 1995-96. She is the Popular Fiction reviewer for the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Ms. Eagle lives in Minnesota with her husband of 28 years, who is Lakota Sioux and a public school teacher. The Eagles have three children: David (25), Elizabeth (21), and Christopher (19).
