A World of My Own

by Elizabeth

A world of my own
No promises, no regrets
Not white enough to be pure
Nor black enough to be tainted
Suffering an illumination
That can only be called grey.
An edge so sharp
As to split a mind
Arguments raised, half and half,
A hapless victim
Torn between himself, locked in the middle
It could happen to you.
A leaf blowing in an unfelt wind
An angel crying over broken wings
As the dumbfounded world stares on
Too stupid to know, too shallow to care
Silence has a sound
Despite what you've been taught
You can touch a rainbow every day
If you reach with your soul
Instead of your hand
