Festival for good luck, celebrating Fortuna.  Fortuna is the Lady of Luck to whom all gamblers pray.

Roman festival of pastoral diety, Pales.  It includes decorating sheefolds with green branches, kindling fires and driving animals through their smoke.  Also, offering milk and cakes to the divinity.  In more recent times, it is known as Earth Day.

Roman festival of the Robigalia.  It was intended to magically avert the spirit of mildew which threatened crops at this time of year.

St. Mark's Day, was intended to gain the blessing of heaven for the growing crops.

May Eve is the festival of the dead in Portugal and Spain.

In Germany, it is Walpurgis Night, dedicated to Walpurga.
