Scene: Dawson’s room - Saturday

(Joey woke up and looked at the clock, 8.00am *I better go* she thought, she looked at Dawson who was still sleeping peacefully and decided not to wake him. She slid out of the bed and started to put her shoes.)

Dawson: You going? (Joey turned around and smiled.)

Joey: Yeah, I have to meet Pacey in an hour.

Dawson: Oh, fine go. (Dawson suddenly turned bitter, he wasn’t in the mood of hearing that name as soon as he woke up)

Joey: I’ll see you later Dawson

Dawson: Yeah (Joey headed for the window) Joey!

Joey: Yeah

Dawson: Are you doing anything tonight?

Joey: No, why?

Dawson: I was thinking we could see a movie…….. at the Rialto. There’s a new Spielburg movie out today.

Joey: Sure, I’m working at the Ice house so I’ll meet you there OK

Dawson: Thanks, bye

Joey: Bye

Scene: Ice House

(Jen was sitting by the counter of the Ice house as Joey comes to start her shift. The Ice house was pretty empty, Jen was staring into her drink and didn’t even notice Joey come in.)

Joey: Hey Jen (Jen looked up surprised that Joey was talking to her. But this time Jen didn’t want to talk to Joey, she was the reason Dawson broke up with her and she was the one who was making him jealous) Are you OK?

Jen: Yeah I’m fine (Jen looked back at her drink, she really wasn’t in the mood of talking to Joey.) I’m just bored.

Joey: I heard that Dawson broke up with you.

Jen: Did he tell you?

Joey: Yeah I was there last night. He does care about you Jen

Jen: What! (Jen was surprised at what Joey had said) How do you know?

Joey: I can tell (Joey was actually just trying to make Jen feel better and somewhere deep down in her heart she had a feeling that Dawson did care about Jen) He’s just afraid of commitment.

Jen: No, actually he cares about you that’s why he’s running from me (Jen muttered under her breath)

Joey: What

Jen: Nothing. So how come you weren’t with Pacey last night? (Jen was trying to change the subject)

Joey: Weren’t not joined at the hip you know. (Joey was joking *It sure seems like it* Jen thought.) Besides he had an extra shift at the video store (Jen smiled)

Jen: See, I knew there would have to be a reason for staying away

Joey: Yeah I guess (Joey suddenly went into thoughts about Pacey)

Jen: And here comes Mr wonderful now (Jen pointed towards the door and Pacey come in)

Pacey: Hey Jen (He smiled at Jen then turned to Joey.) Hey gorgeous

Jen: Hey Pace

(Pacey went round the counter and held Joey and then kissed her)

Bessie: Uhum. Joey get back to work. (Pacey let go of her and walked back round to take a seat next to Jen)

Joey: So what are you having sir? (Joey looked at Pacey pretending to work, even though she knew Pacey didn’t come there for the food)

Pacey: I think I’ll have a miss Josephine Potter

Joey: Coming right up. (Joey lent over and kissed Pacey. Jen was surprised that she let Pacey call her Josephine even if he was her boyfriend. *This is going to be easy* she thought *Dawson has no chance of coming between them*)

Pacey: So where were you last night? I called a few times.

Joey: I was uh (Joey hesitated then thought why shouldn’t she tell Pacey) at Dawson’s

Pacey: Really

Joey: Yeah we sorted things out and talked.

Pacey: I wish he would talk to me, I’m his best friend too and he’s been ignoring me. I don’t know what his problem is (*actually I do, but I can’t tell her that*)

Joey: He’s just been having some problems

Jen: Yeah (*You’re the problem Joey* she thought bitterly)

Pacey: So do you have any plans for tonight.?

Joey: No, but you have a shift at the Video store right?

Pacey: Yeah, well I have to go now. (Pacey quickly got up hurrying to get somewhere.)

Joey: Where you going? (Joey was disappointed.)

Pacey: I just have some things to take care of. You’ll be at home later right?

Joey: Yeah, bye (Joey leaned over and kissed him and he quickly left)

Jen: So what else did Dawson say?

Joey: Dawson! Oh yeah I have got plans.. Pacey! (She called after him but he was gone)

Jen: What happened?

Joey: I’m going to watch the new Spielburg movie with Dawson tonight.

Jen: Oh (*she’s got a boyfriend, she shouldn’t go out with Dawson knowing he still likes her……. Actually I don’t think she has noticed Dawson’s jealously. Sometimes Joey can be as oblivious as Dawson*) Well I’m off. I’m gonna go see Dawson.

Joey: Dawson. (Joey was surprised that Jen wanted to see Dawson after he dumped her. *I wouldn’t even want to speak to him*)

Jen: Yeah, we’re still friends you know

Joey: OK whatever you say, later Jen

Jen: Bye

(Jen had forgotten all the hatred she had for Joey when she first saw her today, after speaking to her for a long time she realised Dawson is the only one interested in making their relationship more than just friends. Joey was so wrapped in Pacey.)

Scene: The docks

(Dawson was sitting on the docks thinking, he looked happy. Jen comes from behind and sits down next to him.)

Jen: Hey Dawson

Dawson: Oh, Hi Jen

Jen: What you thinking about?

Dawson: Nothing.

Jen: You know you can tell me anything, I still want to be your friend.

Dawson: Well actually. I was thinking about Joey (Dawson hesitated but then thought Jen was the only person he could talk to)

Jen: Oh, you wanna talk about it.

Dawson: Not much to talk about, she spent the night last night. (Dawson sounded happy, Jen knew what he was thinking but she knew what Joey thought.) I think she might want to get back together.

Jen: Dawson, What makes you think that?

Dawson: Well, she stayed the night didn’t she? (Dawson knew what he said wasn’t true but he was determined to make it true) I really think it would work. I mean I don’t think she really loves Pacey. (Dawson hesitated in saying that because all Joey talked about was Pacey these days.)

Jen: Dawson, what did you talk about?

Dawson: Nothing much, just this and that. Jen: I went to the Icehouse this morning, Joey told me what you talked about.

Dawson: Just because she talkes about him it doesn’t mean she loves him.. (Dawson became very defensive)

Jen: I think you should think about what your saying. Look how happy she is now.

Dawson: But look how miserable ‘I’ am now

Jen: Look Dawson just think before you do anything stupid or you may end up losing your best friend and we both know you DON’T want that.

(Jen got up and walked of leaving Dawson to think again. *Joey would be happier with me, I know it* he thought.)

Will Dawson successfully break up the happy couple? Will Joey realise Dawson’s jealousy? Will Jen wait for Dawson or take matters into her own hands? Well you’ll just have to wait and see.
