Jen is on her front porch sipping coffee when she sees Joey climb out the window. Walking over to say good morning, she notices that Joey's crying. "Joey are you okay?"
Joey smiles, a real smile and nods. "I think so, then again maybe not," She walks toward the dock. "Look, I want to apologize for the way I've been acting. I've been a real bitch, and it wasn't fair to you. Dawson was the center of my world for so long that I couldn't adjust to not being the center of his."
Jen smiles, "It's okay, I understand. Really, I understand."
Still a little misty eyed, "Good, can you explain it to me?"
Jen begins to wonder what could have brought such a drastic change to the girl she's been trying to befriend for the past 3 months "What happened?"
"Pacey and I finally talked things out last night. We seem to be friends again." Joey looks down in thought, "Or maybe more then friends. Then Dawson comes home this morning and starts a fight because he was jealous of Pacey and me spending time together without fighting." she sighs, "I think I was a little too hard on him, I hope he can forgive me."
"No matter what, Dawson loves you. He'll forgive you, besides you know all his secretes you can blackmail him into forgiving you."
"Yeah, but how much does he love me? And I don't mean girl boy, I mean, in the end, what will be left of his love for me."
Jen who, was facing inland, sees Pacey coming out of the window. "Well, it looks like the window should have a traffic light."
Joey is jolted out of her thoughts. "What?" she says confused. Then she follows Jen's line of site to Pacey as he climbs down the latter.
Pacey sees them, and starts forward. "Are you okay Joey?" He says as he touches her arm.
"Yeah I'm fine, how is he? Do you think I was too hard on him?"
"He's confused and frustrated, but he'll get over it. Everything's going to be all right, and you didn't have to make oven mitts all summer."
"Bad comparison, Pacey. If this goes on much longer I just might have to though."
"Don't worry, Jen and I could always come and bust you out. Look I'm going to go home and get grounded now, are you going to be all right?"
"Sure, and anyway, I was about to ask Jen if she wanted to spend the day at the beach with me. sans the male species." Joey says trying to stop Pacey's for worrying.
"I'd love to." Jen chimes in.
"So it's settled, I'll see you in school Monday." Pacey pretends a pained look when he mentions school. After debating it, Pacey kisses Joey on the check.
Jen raises her eyebrow. As he walks away, she says "So, you spent the night in Dawson Leery's bedroom, with Pacey, without Dawson. Then, Dawson walks in and you have a fight." Jen smiles, "I wish I could have been a fly on that wall."
Joey laughs, "Yeah, that about sums it up. You should have seen Dawson's face when I said I wasn't going to take his crap anymore. Come on lets go, we're wasting prime sunning time. I'll tell you the edited version on the way to the beach."
For the first time Jen and Joey seem to be totally comfortable with each other. When they enter the room Jen turns the radio on, and Natalie Imbruglia's Intuition comes on
~Intuition tells me how to live my day, intuition tells me when to walk away, should have turned left, but I turned right, and I ended up here, bang in the middle of a real life.. and I feel alright~
