I wonder if you have heard of, or perhaps believe in, a doctrine that has become very popular in evangelical Christendom in the last century? It's called the RAPTURE teaching. According to the Bible, when Jesus Christ returns to the earth, the saints (true believers) who are alive will be literally taken up into the air to meet Him. This simple Bible teaching has been extended by many churches and groups to mean that all true Christians will suddenly be whisked away into the air BEFORE Christ returns and BEFORE the period of anarchy which the Bible calls the "Great Tribulation", a seven-year period of terror during which a world dictator (called the Anti-Christ) reigns supreme. There are millions of evangelical Christians who have been deluded by this false doctrine which is not biblical and who, because they believe they will be spared the diffiuclt times ahead, have grown spiritually lazy. The articles in this register look at the history of this teaching (a doctrine unknown in early Christianity in either the apostolic or sub-apostolic times) and the bible teaching.
