NEXT TIME I CRY

"Smile" you would say,
And "Don't cry",
But you're not here,
To wipe my eyes,
Then you come home,
And ask me what's wrong,
But how can I tell you,
What's going on?
I just can't tell you,
What you already know,
You wont work it out,
And I just let it go,
I smile and say,
"It's nothing dear",
You seem to believe me,
As I fight back a tear,
I know all the excuses,
To give to you,
I'm tired, have a headache,
And it's all true,
I want you to hold me,
Take away the fear,
You just touch me for a second,
As I hold back another tear,
I will go on living,
Hold my head up high,
Wondering if you'll be there,
Next time I cry.
