There is a universe that is ruled by an alien being. Not so much ruled in the sense that it has a dictator type control over everything, but rather, it is one of underlying control in the sense of influencing all things and all events. There is a planet in this universe, a beautiful blue planet. On this planet are creatures who have evolved to the point where they are able to contemplate their own existence, and the existence of powers greater than themselves. One could call this quality, "spirituality." The brain's of these creatures run on electrical impulses, and therefor, all emotions, actions, decisions, and beliefs are based on electrical energy. If this being was to be described, then one could say that it is first off all omnipresent, or it exists in all places and in all times. This quality can be attributed to two characteristics: first, it has no physical barriers or "body," and secondly, it is not a being of three dimensions. It is a hyper-dimensional being capable of moving through time at will, existing at any and all times if it chooses. The energy could easily go back in time and change an event in the blue planet's history, and none of the creatures living there would notice a difference because everything would change immediately in the future, as if it had always been that way. Time is not a restriction on this being. This would make the creature in a since, omniscient, or all knowing. It would be able to see the future of all actions and even go into the past at any point to change events to fit it's liking of the future. The only way that this being could have these powers is if it was made of pure energy, and for this purpose, let's say that it is. This would allow it to posses several other interesting qualities. As for knowing everything, how would the being be able to remember all that it has experienced? This can be solved by the being existing as pure energy. As pure energy, each particle of energy would itself serve as a synapse, and information could be stored by a slight alteration in frequency. All the memory fragments of a rose, for example, would be recorded at one frequency, and the whole energy form could tune into that memory by adjusting frequencies, as one might adjust a radio receiver. The most amazing quality that the energy being would posses would be its ability to control the human mind. As stated above, the creatures of the blue planet have developed brains that run on electrical impulses. The being would only have to cause a slight energy alteration inside the minds of the blue planet creatures to cause them to think, act, feel, see, or hear as the being chooses.
So, with all of these powers, the energy being chooses to create the concept of religion on the blue planet. It goes about minds of the creatures, influencing their thoughts and giving them visions, until the creatures start to develop gods, saviors, saints, and even ideas on what happens to them when they die. The being plants all of this information as to have a means of communicating with the creatures and influencing them in a more indirect way. It also creates many different religious beliefs in many different people, which becomes a source of great conflict. It should be asked, why would such a powerful being toy around with the minds of these simple creatures? There could be two very possible reasons for this. First of all, the being sees the creatures as nothing more than entertainment. It takes great pleasure at watching these creatures fight over no-existent gods and ideals. It takes joy in making a fanatic here or an evil dictator there and seeing the outcome of it. If one was to look at these creatures' history from the viewpoint of a god, one would find that it is all very humorous. Silly little creatures trying to understand the world around them and believing that their interpretations are right are very amusing to the energy. It even enjoys knowing that everything that they hold to be so true is really nothing more than a lie, a lie that it created. This could be easily comparable to the creatures of the blue planet who keep ant farms or fish tanks, though not to the extreme. There is a second explanation for the being's domination over the blue planet. What if the creatures there were nothing more than an experiment for the being? It is very possible that the energy form just wishes to experiment on the creatures to find out how certain events in the past will affect the future. The possibilities of this are endless. Maybe there is a whole race of these energy beings each controlling their own little planet, and every so often, they all get together and share their scientific findings on space, time, and the gullible little creatures on their silly little planets.
