* Rurouni Kenshin Manga Translation *
* Volume three: The reason to act *
* Chapter sixteen: Megumi, Kanryuu and... *

Kaoru: Kenshin and Sanosuke art so slow in returning.

Yahiko: If we do see it this way, they wouldst have either had big-time
victory or defeat. Then should we apply the latter, fear we that they hath
given even the clothing up, leaving only a loin-cloth.

*Yahiko's imaginative drawing of Kenshin with only one loin-cloth*

Kaoru: Disgusting! I shall not stand a sight of that! That sight do not
promote the goodness in looking!

Kenshin: (as he steps through the door) This unworthy one hath returned -

Kaoru: Kenshin! You hath returned - (notices something in shock) AH

Kenshin: Sincerest apologies, to hath been so delayed.

Megumi: So poor and humble looking, canst it really be a kenjutsu dojo?

Kaoru: ? ? ?

Kenshin: Ah, miss madame here; Takani Megumi, hath because of a strife
within the casino...

(Sanosuke caps his hand over Kenshin's mouth)

Sano: Actually the matter would be that the opposite had no dough to knead
to us, therefore the lady became the replacement. Apologies, you would have
to temporarily house her!

Kenshin: !?

Yahiko: So that is why. Then thou hath had a big-time victory!

Kenshin: *Sanosuke ~~~~~~~~~~~~ !?*

Sano: *Speak the truth and incorporate the opium matter as well. It would be
best to sift out the impurities in this matter initially.*

Kaoru: Kenshin, he doth speakst the truth?

Sano: *Doth thou wish to entangle even Kaoru and Yahiko into this mess?*

Kenshin: (closing his eyes unhappily) Ho...

Kaoru: Kenshin...

Kenshin: The matter... is as spoken.

(his left cheek gets flattened by Kaoru)

Kaoru: I hath misplaced mine judgement! Chaotic egg!

Kenshin: (words on his tongue) PAINFUL!

Kaoru: (hitting him repeatedly on the head with her bamboo sword) How dare
thou make the matter of human trading seem so real even now! Forgetness if
'twere Sanosuke, but YOU!

Kenshin: Oro -

Sano: What is the hidden meaning of that!

Kaoru: Ho... thou must be Takani! Apologies, I wouldst teach him the morals
of this predicatment, please do return.

Megumi: But I hath no desire for that!

Kaoru: Pardon?

Megumi: (gathering Kenshin up in her arms) I hath fallen deeply for this
man! And canst but lack one moment with him.

Kenshin: (words on his tongue) Wah~

Kaoru: !

Megumi: I deserve so much more credit compared to that sweat clad little
girl over there, Ken-san!

Kenshin: (words on his tongue) Ah~

Yahiko: Wowee! Kenshin can really maintain it well! (gets a bump on the head
by Kaoru because of that sentence)

Kaoru: No... NO nay! You can but do that!

Megumi: Woah - the reason being? Thou has not the look of Ken-san's lover!
Which stand do you base that statement on.

Sano: Do not bother the little girl Kaoru, she hath a very simple and
straight viewpoint of all.

(Kaoru gets angry)

Kaoru: (kicking everyone out) GET OUT FOR ME-! ALL OF YOU GET OUT FOR ME-!

Sano: 'Twould be a bother!

Kenshin: All of which invokes neither laughs nor cries.

Megumi: Her spoken words do not behave as so, speaking nonsense of which.
Mine inavailability to be without him, art they mine heartfelt desires!

(Kenshin looks at her)

Megumi: (pointing) He do not only build the great martial arts figure, even
thy character art warm and approachable, to stick to him, even should
Kanryuu's people should pursue me, he wouldst provide perfect protection!

(looking again)

Megumi: Himura Kenshin... I want you to put on mine bodyguard's armor!

Kenshin: If that be thy true purpose, couldst thou please then reveal the
truth of the matter to your audience.

Sano: My views do not differ. You hath acted foolish from the moment we had
the occurence, not even muttering a word, so what canst your history and
background be! Why do your escape originate from Kanryuu? And why doth he
refuse to give up the pursuit!

(holds up a packet)

Sano: AND THE OPIUM! Where in the world how in the world why in the world
what in the world made you possess these things!

Megumi: (touching her hair) A girl's past for inquiry, how coarse!

Sano: DO NOT EMPLOY THIS TECHNIQUE! (almost wants to eat her up)

Kenshin: (pulling his headband) Manners, manners!

Sano: Ho - rest it! If I do not give up on hampering your freedom, the truth
wouldst eventually tumble out! My friend deceased on the hands of opium! So
if you allow the opium to meet the society, forgiveness is not possible. I
myself would make you feel what regret tastes like!

Megumi: ... Ho!

Kenshin: If then, thy past and surroundings art not convenient to tell, pray
then, please reveal in the most infinitesimal details Kanryuu's operation
ways. Supposedly... mister he wouldst be a death dealer in drugs...

Friend: Found him! Sanosuke!

Kenshin, Sanosuke and Megumi: !

Friend: So thou art here! I hath almost given up sanity for your search!

Sano: Shuu? Wherefore here? Didst you not send the injured ones to hospital?

Shuu: I hath. They would be fine from now... their lives art not
threatened...

Sano: 'Twould be great!

Shuu: By near! The reason for this journey was to report something far more
worse! Please, I implore thee all to follow me!

(they go to a canal where the bodies of two men are being dragged out)

Sano: That would be the private armies of Kanryuu...

Kenshin: Too cruel... !

Megumi: People of no value, no use, they would be abadoned, fiercely kicked
to one side, Kanryuu had always operated this way...

Kenshin: ... (notices something)

Sano: What is't?

(Kenshin turns to stare at a spot in the crowd. Kanryuu is there with
Beshimi beside him and an unknown guy)

Kenshin and unknown guy: (staring at each other) ...

Guy: Beshimi!

Beshimi: Ye... Yes!

Guy: The kenkaku who destroyed your nose, hath he red hair and a big cross
scar on his left cheek?

Beshimi: Huh? Yes! (turns his head) AH! AH 'tis him! Megumi there too! Too
good! Now I may finish him off... !

Kanryuu: I do not - wish to invoke a human uproar.

Guy: Stop.

Beshimi: Detestable...

Kanryuu: I thank thee.

Guy: From which angle we probe that man is no ordinary one. Beshimi, one of
you canst but challenge him head-on! They would be dwelling near! Hanya,
thou art there?

Hanya: (invisible in the crowd) Ay!

Guy: Their anchoring points... hath been unearthed?

Hanya: Unearthed yes! The man hath the sharpest senses of most, and indeed
unearthing it cost much angst... but finally...

Guy: Very well done... you shall accompany Beshimi to recapture Takani
Megumi. And bring along Hyottoko!

Hanya: Understood!

Guy: Shall that be done? Beshimi? I hath engaged two others in your comfort.
If the matter still doth not settle, then do not reproach mine interference!

Beshimi: I... shall bear these all in my heart! Then...

(he disappears)

Kanryuu: A second chance is spared! Okashira... thou art truly one who
favors human mercy!

Okashira: Oh really!

Kanryuu: Of course really! I canst but accomplish a matter like that. With
my status and background, met with something I hath no other use for, if the
immediate disposal is not carved, peace wouldst never prevail. If the other
alternative is used, then the air would be easier to breath!

(strokes his chin)

Kanryuu: To retrace mine words however, Megumi really aches one's head.

(Megumi notices something)

Kanryuu: Such an important goose which lays golden eggs, no escape route
shall be possible!

(Megumi really notices something)

Megumi: KANRYUU!

Sano: So there is not err! Gaze, Kenshin! Towards our left stands the man of
Takeda Kanryuu fame.

Kenshin: If 'tis true... who then stands towards mister he's right?

Sano: Well... couldst he belong to the private army?

(Aoshi stares back at the staring trio)

Megumi: Nay! He is... Okashira... !

Sano and Kenshin: !?

Megumi: Besides a private army, Kanryuu recently picked up the new team of
bodyguards, of the late 'Oniwabanshuu' name...

* Footnote reads: Oniwabanshuu
A certain group of spies (a private army of the Shogunate [?!?!], their late
roles represent that of ninjas), hiding in the places nearer those of
important generals and officials to guard the former's safeties. Their
skills far exceeds those of other groups formed.

Megumi: And this wouldst be he who before the critical entry of Meiji, with
the infant like age of 15 ascended as Oniwabanshuu's Okashira (head or
chief), a genius spy of the times -

(full profile of Okashira)

Megumi: Shinomori Aoshi!

Kenshin: Wherefore did a kind of his attached his worthy self to a man
likened to Kanryuu?

Megumi: I know not. Shall we then compare him to Takeda Kanryuu, he wouldst
have far multiplied the accounts of difficulty in bothered business of a
strong enemy.

Kenshin: Having earned a dangerously misrepresented business man and the
Oniwabanshuu as foes...

(picture of Kanryuu, Kenshin, Aoshi, Megumi and Sanosuke)

Kenshin: Megumi-dono mayst not be left a moment in carelessness!
