Chiuthyphro's Villa

a site dedicated to the study of classics on the web

Salvete, et amici et amicae! I'm known as Chiuthyphro. The name may seem odd, and it should be; some fellow classicists coined it, punning my surname "Chiu" with "Euthyphro," a character in Plato's dialogue of the same name. I've been Chiuthyphro ever since (sometimes it suits me all too well. Euthyphro was one of the great blockheads of classical literature, after all).

But you're not here for Chiuthyphro--you're here for the villa. Because of the vast number of sources available, this website is divided into several rooms. Please choose one as your starting point, though I hope you will eventually explore the others as well. This site is under constant construction.

Rooms in the Villa:

Chiuthyphro's Annotated Index of Classical Resources Online

Classics out of the Classroom: Greece, Rome, and Pop Culture

The Gallery of Classical Art (forthcoming)

Feminae Antiquae: A Focus on Women in the Ancient World
