"Cufflink is a real live cat, but  that's not all there is to that..."

"Our meandering cat knows all the highlights of our garden including:  where the frogs hang out under and about the waterfall, when it's feeding time for the fish, Cufflink watching butterfly.and where the butterflies meet upon the Purple Coneflowers repeatedly testing his ability to jump.  Ah, but he's getting on in years (almost 7 now) and not as quick as he thinks he is. Not that he ever was quick.  Maybe that explains why he was never interested in hunting.  Or maybe it was just easier for him to get his food from a bowl.  I had to actually teach him not only to find mice in our house, but to also carry them outside and let them go, if you can believe that!Cufflink watching fish.  Sometime later, I caught him up on the kitchen counter with his paw all the way  down inside the toaster.  When I peeked inside, there was a baby mouse running frantically around the bottom. Then suddenly, it jumped out and scooted away leaving Cufflink without a playmate.  Another time I witnessed him laying in the grass as a spectator monitoring the follies of a Bluejay pulling the broken wing act. Cufflink monitoring Bluejay.I was once told birds do that when caught in a life threatening situation.  Cufflink of course would not hurt it since he's not, and I emphasize not  your  ordinary feline!  No, he doesn't lick the butter or help himself to table scraps either. I don't know why he is this way, but he is special and part of our family.   He even won a best dressed pet award in our local newspaper!  My children just love dressing him up all the time and he actually enjoys the pampering but doesn't always like the fashions.   He is quite the character (Pun intended).   He has lots of fans in the neighborhood too.  He likes to lay on his back and show off his fluffy belly hoping someone will rub it. You can rub it also now, if you'd like."
