Information wanted::

I live in the village of Silverton, which is situated about seven miles north of Exeter in Devon, England. With a group of others in the village I am researching it's history with a view to compiling a book. We have been told that during World War II a number of U. S. servicemen were stationed here. We have no idea of the name or number of the group or even if they were Marines or whatever. Johnson Light Machine Gun information available:

I have acquired a tremendous amount of information on Johnson semiauto rifles and light machine guns pursuant to a book I just finished writing. The info includes serial number information on the rifles from 0001 though 9999 and nearly all of the M1941 l.m.g.s. I am able to delinate which l.m.g.s were used (by serial no.) by the USMC and the FSSF.
