When the going gets tough

Founder of the Ford Motor Company, Henry Ford (1863-1947), was quoted as saying
He should know. Henry had great ideas but had to fight enormous odds and numerous court battles to turn his dream of mass-producing affordable motorcar into a reality. And just when it looked like he had been successful, advances in technology and changes in style almost left him behind, and he had to shut down his factory for 6 months while he completely revamped his production process.

We all face various obstacles in our daily lives. They come in various sizes; they come in various forms. At times it seems that these obstacles in life are getting on top of us, and we end up focusing on our problems rather than our aspirations. The bible urges us to take a broader view. God has put us here to make a difference. He has given us all different skills, abilities and dreams. What we end up doing with these is invariably up to us. But God also has a plan for each of us. As the prophet Jeremiah discovered, God's plans is for us to prosper and not to come to harm. God's plan is for us to have a hope and a future.

Now faith in God won't protect us from life's obstacles. Trusting in God won't spare us from pain or hardships. Trusting God will however give us the strength to confront those obstacles and keep our eyes on our ultimate goals. So dare to turn those dreams and ideas into realities. Seek God's will in your life remembering that in Him, all things are possible.
