If such people come to your
door, don't be afraid to turn them away. After all, as the Bible says,
they have come to "exploit you with stories
they have made up." (2 Peter 2:3) And if some people at
school are telling you that Jesus is not God, show them some of these reasons
to believe that JESUS IS GOD:
Jesus claimed that seeing Him
was the same as seeing the Father:
"Anyonewho
has seen me has seen the Father."
John 14:9
He made himself equal to God (and
never denied it when so accused):
'We
are not stoning you for any of these', replied to Jews, 'but for blasphemy,
because you, a mere man, claim to be God.'
John 10:33
The Bible calls him God:
"And
he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace".
Isaiah 9:6
In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God . . . The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.
John 1:1, 14
While
we wait for the blessed hope - the glorious appearing of our great God
and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Titus 2:13
Jesus believed Himself to be God:
Jesus
said to him, 'Away from me, Satan! For it is written: "Worship the Lord
your God, and serve him only."'
Matthew 4:10
Yet Jesus allowed himself to be
worshiped:
Then
the man said 'Lord, I believe,' and he worshiped him."
John 9:38
Suddenly
Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet
and worshiped him."
Matthew 28:8
He allowed himself to be called
God:
"Then
he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your
hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.' Thomas said to
him, "My Lord and My God!"
John 20:27-8
He forgave sins, something only
God can do:
When
Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, 'Son, your sins are forgiven.'
Mark 2:5
God and Jesus are both described
as the creator:
In
the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1
Through
him (Jesus) all things were made; without him nothing was made that has
been made.
John 1:3
God calls Jesus God:
But
about the Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, will last forever and ever,
and righteousness will be the scepter of your kingdom.'
Hebrews 1:8
He is in very nature God:
Your
attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very
nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
but made himself nothing, taking on the very nature of a servant, being
made in human likeness.
