Most of us have heard how Kathy Lee Gifford, if the Today Show, slammed Pagans on TV, found here, then when called to task for her slander, gave an insincere fake apology.
Now the only thing worse than an insult is an insincere apology. An apology that is forced to be given is an additional insult for it changes nothing. When one of the guys I served with made an unkind comment about women, he was required to spend a considerable amount of time researching women in the military and to produce a paper and lecture on the contributions of that gender TO the US Armed Forces. I don’t know if he changed his view, but now he was, at least, better educated about the truth. Perhaps Kathi should be required to do the same, an entire show on the contributions of pagans to American and how the Constitution of the United States guarantees Pagan Rights?
There are a number of places that have responded to this from The Military Pagan Network to Witches Voice but one of the best (i.e. HONEST) is from the webcomic American Gothic.
Note that on the list of her supporters is Disney World which has a history and reputation as being anti-Wiccan. Some of these I boycott for personal reasons, the rest for this.
