In Gardnerian and many other British Traditional Covens, the High Priestess has the final
say. It is She who runs the Coven, She who makes the decisions, She who represents the
Goddess.
But does this mean that the High Priest is, as is often said, little more than a
glorified altar boy?
Not at all! For the High Priestess is charged with the duty of selecting her High
Priest from the Coven at large and although the written requirements are only that he be
of "sufficient Degree", the oral (unwritten) tradition determins how he is chosen.
Now, for the first time ever, I am revealing the actual and secret requirements that a BTW High Priestess uses to choose her Consort, her Working Partner, her High Priest.
