I received this over the Fourth of July Weekend, along with a news article that US airports are starting to use backscatter x-rays. What this means is that you go through an x-ray machine (and we know how dangerous these are since your hospital techs cover you with lead and leave the room but airports don’t care about your cancer) then they take a photo of you and it shows you naked on the screen for all to see. Piercings, size, etc. Even children (hey, what about child-porn laws? Aren’t airport security comitting a felony by watching a naked 12 year old girl?)
So obviously, when Valerie sent me this, I decided that we, as pagans, NEED to create numbers that will scare the govt into listening to us.
Right now why should the government care about a few dozen Witches? But they WILL listen to a few million of us!
So register and VOTE! Write your congressman and senator. Bother them with phone calls and remind them that YOU believe in freedom (freedom of religion, freedom of privacy, freedom in general) and if they don’t, they can easily be voted out of office.
Yes there is a new page at Pagan Politics. The new Pagan Voter Census.
We will be taking this census of registered pagan voters for the next year. We need all pagans to sign up at the site so they can be counted. Imagine a block of voters that are all pagan. There may yet be a major voice for the pagan community, and this number we are looking for may be where it starts. We need all pagans in the United States to sign up and be counted. Send this link to every pagan and pagan e-mail group you know so that everyone can be counted.
Go to Go to Pagan Politics and sign up at the Pagan Voter Census page.
The Catholic Church believes that only 200,000 Americans are pagan. Let's prove them to be incorrect, and that there are at least that many voters registered in just a few states.
Thank you.
