Buffy was appalled; she didn't think it would ever happen. *I knew she would, but I didn't think he would even consider...*

But the thing that disgusted her the most was that they were acting like nothing had happened. They behaved for all the world as though they hadn't done the horizontal hokey pokey in the AV room in the back of the library during lunch on a schoolday when Buffy just happened to be looking for a book.....

Buffy groaned loud and deep. She couldn't get the picture out of her head, and it was driving her nuts.

Now they were standing in the cage, discussing a book about contemporary witchcraft or something. Willow made a joke, and raised an eyebrow, and Giles smiled at her, put a hand on her shoulder, tugged on a strand of her hair.

The blonde Slayer tried to refocus on her training dummy, but hearing Willow's giggle at something Giles said....

The dummy broke at the middle with a loud CRACK.

************

Giles' head snapped around. "Buffy? Are you alright?"

"Oh. Fine. Just dandy." Buffy grated out.

"Anything you'd care to discuss?" the Watcher continued.

"Nah." Buffy forced a smile onto her face. "It's after sunset. I'm gonna go patrol. Later."

After she gathered her things and practically sprinted to the door, Willow said, "What's up with her?"

"It's getting toward her time of the month. She's usually like this." Giles murmured.

Willow paused for a moment, then her head swung around to stare, wide-eyed, at the Watcher. "You know when she's...........?"

Giles nodded. "It's a good way to monitor her powers. She's actually strongest when she has her cycle."

"Ohhhkay."

************

Buffy's stake found the heart of the first vampire very easily. After that, his friends -- three of them -- swarmed on her like locusts on -- locusts on -- locusts on something locusts really, really like.

One vamp had a yen to take a swing at Buffy, so she deflected his punch, grabbed his other hand, and pulled him back, placing one foot in his stomach as she rolled to the ground and kicked him off over her head into the vampiress behind them. Using her leverage from the roll, she backwards somersauted into a standing position and high kicked the third vampire in the head, sending him flying backwards too.

Buffy looked at the three of them on the ground. Pulling out a stake, she smiled evilly and did her best Bruce Campbell imression. "All right. Come get some."

The vampires looked at each other and scrambled to get up and run away. Buffy fell on them, staking the vampire with the head wound and punting the chick in the stomach. She doubled over and Buffy tried to press her advantage by swinging a leg up in a short kick.

Vamp Guy behind her grabbed her arms, immobilizing them and pulling her out of kicking range on his girlfriend. He tried to bite down on her neck, but she reared her head back, knocking it into his. He howled and Buffy extricated herself from his grasp and whirled to charge him.

He disappeared into a pile of dust with the usual otherworldly scream.

"Hey Buffy."

The vampiress shoved the Slayer out of her way and tackled Xander. Buffy staked her too, before her fangs got to the boy's neck.

"Xander!" Buffy smiled brightly. "Thanks."

"Anytime. Anything for my favorite Vampire Slayer."

"So, Giles. Now that you have me alone here, what are you going to do with me?" Willow grinned impishly up at her mentor.

"I was thinking." he replied.

"As usual." Willow quipped. "Do you ever do anything else?"

"I get knocked out a lot." Giles smiled. "I read. I research. I cross reference."

"You have wild monkey sex with your protege in the AV room." Willow's grin faded.

"Why, Miss Rosenberg," the librarian murmured. He sat down next to her at the table and said seriously, "Are you upset with me? Angry, perhaps?"

What was left of Willow's smile disappeared altogether. "Why do you ask?"

"It's been a week, Willow. You haven't mentioned it to me once, and you've been behaving as though nothing out of the ordinary occurred."

"What was I supposed to do?" the red-haired hacker asked. "Walk up to you the next time I saw you and say, 'Hey, Giles, thanks for fucking my brains out at lunch yesterday'?" She stood up abruptly and walked behind the counter. "I'd better get back to work."

"I don't think we're done." he said softly.

Willow frowned. "That's the problem. I don't think we ever will be."

************

"So what's new with the Buffster?" Xander asked companionably. "How's Angel?"

Buffy peered at her friend. "Do you care?"

"Nope. But pretend I do."

"He's just fine, as far as I know." the blonde murmured. "Haven't seen him in awhile."

"What's on your mind, Buffy?" Xander asked, concern clouding his deep brown eyes. "Want to talk about it?"

"I would love to talk about it, Xander. But you have to swear, I mean swear on a stack of Bibles, that you won't tell anyone." Buffy said seriously.

"Who am I gonna tell? Cordelia? Angel? Oz?" His joking smile froze on his face. "You're serious, aren't you?"

Buffy nodded silently.

"I'll go you one better. Let's go to my house."

"How is that one better?" Buffy asked as she followed him out of the cemetary.

************

"You don't." Giles frowned, considering. "Why not?"

The book on top of the pile Willow was carrying swayed precariously as she climbed the stairs. "Do we have to talk about this now?"

"Yes, Willow, I tend to think we do. You can't just say something like that and decide to drop the subject." Giles followed her up the stairs and put a hand on her shoulder, stopping her.

Unfortunately, the books were still moving forward, and toppled from her arms, scattering into a pile on the floor. She went to her knees, picking up the first few texts. "You want to know something?"

"What?" Giles asked as he knelt beside her to help.

"I haven't been able to get you out of my mind." Willow frowned and looked away. "I haven't stopped thinking about it...how you felt...how you made me feel...God, you must think I sound stupid or something."

Giles grabbed her arm, turning her to face him. "I don't think that. Come on."

Willow's stomach trembled as he dragged her into the office.

************

“You want something to drink? Eat?” Xander asked.

Buffy shook her head and stepped farther into his kitchen. Looking around, she smiled and said the same thing she said every time she entered the Harris kitchen. “Hey, you guys have a stove.”

“Yeah,” murmured Xander, playing along instead of rolling his eyes as per usual. “Always have. It came with the house.”

“Does your mom ever use it?” Buffy asked.

“Well, no....I do.” Xander blushed.

Buffy grinned widely. “You can cook?”

The dark-haired boy nodded mutely as his face turned beet red.

“I suddenly find I am hungry. You know how to make Mexican?”

“I think I can manage something.”

“That’s what I’ve heard. But it’s just locker room talk. I wouldn’t pay it any mind.”

Xander’s laugh ended abruptly. “Wait. What did Willow tell you?”

“Xander, food.” Buffy laughed. “I was kidding. I don’t know anything, I swear.”

Xander grumbled as he rummaged through his kitchen for pots and pans and spices and tortillas and....

************

“Sit.” Giles said as he shut and locked his office door. Willow stared at him expectantly. “Please,” he amended.

Willow sat down. “What do you want to talk about?”

“You. Me.” Giles smiled and finished slowly. “Wild. Monkey. Sex.”

Willow blushed. “It slipped out, okay?”

“You made me feel....it’s indescribable, really. Needed. Wanted. Loved.” Giles paused, letting the girl absorb the revelation. “Things I didn’t think I could feel again.”

“What should we do?” she asked after a moment.

“I don’t know.” He sank down to sit on the edge of the desk. “I know what I want to do.”

Willow stood and crossed over to stand between his knees. “If It’s any thing like this,” she said, kissing him lightly on the tip of his nose, “I agree.”

Her mouth found his, and they kissed slowly, tenderly, enjoying the feel of each other’s bodies.

************

Buffy grunted and tugged on the waistband of her jeans. “Wanna get married?” she asked her companion.

“Huh?” Xander looked over at her and blinked. “To you? Sure. As long as you promise Angel won’t eat me.”

“Never mind. I wouldn’t be able to guarantee anything.”

Xander smiled and stood, collecting the plates. “So you liked the food?”

“It was delicious, Xander, thank you.” She smiled back, and got up to help him. “I’ll wash, you dry?”

“And while we do, you can tell me what’s up.”

Buffy’s face abruptly changed at Xander’s words. He frowned. “That bad, huh?”

“Worse.”

Xander put the dishes in the sink and shrugged. “Dishes can wait. So tell.”

“Well, see, I was looking for a book, you know, in the library, because that’s where books go, and I was wandering in the back stacks, you know, just looking around in the romance section -- not that I would read a romance novel, because they’re just sappy, well, except for that one book about the harems, that one was cool, but --”

Xander cut her off with a wave of his hand. “Spit it out, Buff!”

“I saw Willow and Giles having sex in the AV room.”

************

“Mmmm.” Willow whimpered when they finally broke apart.

Giles eyed her for a moment. “Where did you learn how to kiss like that?”

“Do you really want to know?” she asked dryly.

“I can guess.” he frowned. “What about Oz and Xander?”

“They can both fuck off.” Willow sighed and pillowed her head on his shoulder. After a moment, she looked up. “If that’s okay with you.”

He smiled. “Of course it’s alright.” Again his mouth found hers, exploring, gently feeling the contours of her lips, her tongue. His hands found her backside, and he pulled her hips up, encouraging her to wrap her legs around him.

She pushed him down onto his back instead, and he whispered her name as she crawled over him, kissing his face.

************

“What?” The boy stood stock still, shock clouding his soft brown eyes.

“I saw Giles and Willow boinking in the AV room in the library at lunchtime last week Thursday.”

“How could he? How could she....how could they?” Xander whispered.

“I’ve been asking myself those very same questions.”

He whirled and walked out the kitchen door.

“Where are you going?” Buffy asked his retreating form.

He didn’t answer, instead getting in his mother’s car and driving off.

“He took that well.” She murmured as she closed the door behind her and went to the sink. Turning on the hot water, she thought to herself, *He’s going to the library. I should stop him.*

The mental picture of her best friend and her Watcher, nude and in the throes of passion, reappared. Her gorge rose at it, and she said, “Nah. Let ‘em suffer.”

Buffy turned on the radio that she found mounted under the cupboard and began to wash the dishes.

************

Willow wasn’t sure how her skirt got hiked up around her waist, or how her tights got off her legs, or how his hand got down there, but, ooooh, dammit, he was good at that.

She whimpered, and tugged at the buttons of his shirt, squirming to get away from his fingers. “We really, really shouldn’t be doing this here,” she began.

“You started it,” the librarian pouted beneath her. “But you’re right.”

Willow rolled off him, and began to tug her nylons up. Giles’ hands, suddenly, pulled them off of her, tugged her panties down as well. “Hey! What....”

“Door’s locked.” he grinned evilly from his position between her knees. “And you are so very beautiful. I don’t think I can control myself for much longer.”

“Oh.” the redhead murmured. “What are you going to do?”

His wolfish smile deepened, as he dove for her center.

************

Xander drove, his head spinning. Anger radiated from him, so much so that he was pretty sure his head was glowing, crimson like fire. He drove past the high school four times before pulling into the parking lot.

“That son of a bitch. I’m going to kill him.”

************

The hacker whimpered as her mentor’s experienced mouth did nifty little patterns on her clitoris, making her hips jump around.

He looked up at her flushed face, then smiled. “Don’t make me hold you down, love.”

His only response was one finely arched eyebrow.

Smirking and shaking his head, he placed one hand on either of her hips, and reinstated his vigorous activity.

His satisfaction at her reaction to his lips and tongue was hidden only by the cotton of her skirt.

************

The library looked deserted.

Except for, of course, the locked office door, and the quiet keening sound --Willow -- coming out of it. Xander could hear her voice, from in the small room, begging for more.

************

“I need you inside me, Giles.” she begged. “Please?”

He nodded, standing up. The librarian grabbed his lover’s hands, hauling her up off the desk and into his warm embrace once more. “Think you can wait until we can get to a bed, love?”

“Well, um...no.” She shook her head, pouting. “Horny now.”

He smiled. “And what would happen if the Principal caught us?”

Willow sighed and began to readjust her clothing. “Bed it is.”

************

Xander stood against the office door, his world collapsing around his ears as he listened to the conversation his best friend was having with the Watcher. Tears flowed freely down his face as he realized, once and for all, that he and Willow, as much as he wanted her, were never going to be together.

Sorrow was soon replaced by anger, a kind of righteous jealous rage that burned through his veins, seething him into a frenzy.

************

“Ready to go, little one?”

Willow nodded, and Giles opened the office door...

...and turned around, only to connect solidly, jaw-first, with Xander’s fist. Giles fell, and Willow yelped, and followed him down.

“You knocked him out.” the petite hacker said incredulously.

“What’s the matter, Will? Scared he’ll lose his stiffie?”

“Wh--what?” Her eyes widened, and her mouth formed a little “o” of surprise.

“You were gonna fuck him right on the desk in there, weren’t you, Will?” Xander’s eyes flashed angrily, and took on a dangerous gleam as he spoke his next words. “Do you think he’ll be a good lay, Will? Think he’ll fuck you like you like it?”

“What? Xander, I --”

Xander’s hand reached up, whip-fast, and grabbed the back of her head. Pulling her face close to his, he snarled, “You think he’ll be better than me, huh? You gotta make sure you nail at least one of us three, right, Will? Because you don’t really love any of us, right, Will?”

Xander’s grip on her hair tightened, and she whimpered, “Xander, you’re hurting me,” as tears squeezed out of her eyes.

“Oh. I’m hurting you.” He smiled humorlessly. “That’s kind of funny.” He pulled her mouth to his, kissing her angrily, his tongue invading her warm mouth, tangling with hers. And despite her fear of him, her anger at him, she whimpered and relaxed into the kiss.

He roughly bit her tongue. She yelped, and he pushed her to the floor.

“Slut.”

Xander whirled and stalked out of the library, leaving the woman who was once his best friend in a weeping pile on the floor next to her lover.
